Poesi: The Rose
I was a beautiful rose
And he ensured me he would make me grow
Instead he made me wither
He did not know
How to water my leaves
So he picked them
Until there was
Nothing but the stems left
Then he got bored
and decided to explore
What the other flowers had in store
But
Eventually my tears
Enriched the soil
And made new seeds grow
Into beautiful tulips
In different colors
Whom all completed
The essence of my soul
And now
There’s a fence
Surrounding my garden
I’ve painted it white
It’s beautiful and full of life
The only visitors allowed
Are the ones that already shine
For they are not blind
To the real beauty that lies behind
The limitations of the mind
I have never felt this aligned.
